Especially for children, the freely accessible adventure playground is an attraction in itself. From swings in all variations to the ground trampoline and the slack line to the giant climbing ball, the playground offers everything a child's heart desires. Just a few years ago, the area was extended to include several popular pieces of play equipment and - nestled in an idyllic wooded area - promises fun and games at any time of year!
One of the many highlights of the adventure playground is the spacious ball playground. Visitors can bring their own balls or borrow them from Amethyst Welt .
The adventure playground is constantly being updated with new features and is not only available to children from Maissau, but also to all visitors to Amethyst Welt Maissau free of charge.

Encounters with animals are an experience, especially for the little ones. The animal adventure forest at Amethyst Welt Maissau invites you to make friends with goats, chickens and rabbits and offers children the opportunity to experience the animals and their respective characteristics up close.
In cooperation with Landgut Wien Cobenzl, the animal guests enjoy a pleasant summer retreat in the beautiful Waldviertel from April to October.
Special pet food dispensers are available for those who want to spoil the animals.

On November 21 and 22, 2026, the historic downtown area of Eggenburg will be transformed into a festive Advent setting. Admission is free.
Around the main square, visitors can enjoy a diverse Advent market featuring regional handicrafts, Christmas tree decorations, pastries, roasted chestnuts, and mulled wine. A varied program of events—including concerts, readings, workshops, and craft demonstrations—creates a special atmosphere both outdoors and in the historic indoor spaces.
On Sunday, the popular themed city tours titled “Christmas in the Middle Ages” will also take place.
