Immerse yourself in the magical world of gemstones!

GUIDED TOURS ESPECIALLY FOR CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE

Attention adventurers! The exciting search for your personal amethyst to take home awaits you in the treasure mine. If you'd rather experience a real gold digging atmosphere, you can choose between discovering sparkling fool's gold, colorful gemstones or 30-million-year-old fossils in the covered gold panning facility. The find is yours, of course! The extensive adventure playground and the animal adventure forest with rabbits, chickens and goats also provide plenty of fun. Both indoors and outdoors, there are plenty of cozy spots for a refreshing treasure hunt snack in between.


For kindergartens and school classes, we are happy to open a little earlier in the morning (from 9.30 a.m.) free of charge by prior arrangement.

Group tours are also available on closed days.

Prices apply to groups of 20 or more (up to 16 years of age), 2 teachers are free of charge.

TREASURE DIGGER SNACK

Barbecue together at the Amethyst Welt barbecue area with pastries and a drink. 

Requirement: The children must be able to independently place the sausages on a 2-meter-long wooden skewer and hold it over the barbecue area. 

Only possible from elementary school onwards!

Minimum order: 15 sausages 

We offer cheese toast as a vegetarian alternative. 

(In bad weather we serve cooked sausages or hot dogs in our barn).

In the treasure dig field in the forest arena of Amethyst Welt , some treasure diggers are rewarded for their special diligence and ambition in the search with unique finds!

We offer guided tours for children to the unique amethyst exhibition mine and the gemstone house, including the special exhibition "Crystal Skulls – Key to Hidden Worlds?" as a standalone program item.

ADVENTURE PLAYGROUND

At the adventure playground, the children and young people have the opportunity to let off steam before heading home. There is also the opportunity to visit the goats, rabbits and chickens in the animal adventure forest.

A colorful program in the historic downtown area

On November 21 and 22, 2026, the historic downtown area of Eggenburg will be transformed into a festive Advent setting. Admission is free.

Around the main square, visitors can enjoy a diverse Advent market featuring regional handicrafts, Christmas tree decorations, pastries, roasted chestnuts, and mulled wine. A varied program of events—including concerts, readings, workshops, and craft demonstrations—creates a special atmosphere both outdoors and in the historic indoor spaces.

On Sunday, the popular themed city tours titled “Christmas in the Middle Ages” will also take place.
