Mariachi music—experience Mexican zest for life up close!

As part of our “Día de los Muertos” celebration, there will be a performance on Friday, October 30 and Saturday, October 31the mariachi band LOS MARIACHIS NEGROS will perform 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. 

With lively rhythms, soulful songs, and magnificent traditional costumes, mariachi musicians bring a touch of Mexican flair to the “ Amethyst Welt ” in Maissau. Their music tells stories of love, home, and the beauty of Mexico—and invites you to listen, dance, and join the celebration!

A colorful program in the historic downtown area

On November 21 and 22, 2026, the historic downtown area of Eggenburg will be transformed into a festive Advent setting. Admission is free.

Around the main square, visitors can enjoy a diverse Advent market featuring regional handicrafts, Christmas tree decorations, pastries, roasted chestnuts, and mulled wine. A varied program of events—including concerts, readings, workshops, and craft demonstrations—creates a special atmosphere both outdoors and in the historic indoor spaces.

On Sunday, the popular themed city tours titled “Christmas in the Middle Ages” will also take place.
